Bundespräsident Joachim Gauck im Haus Müllestumpe

Many people who visit Haus Müllestumpe to participate in the monthly Folk Club, which is held there on first Fridays, know it only as a wonderful music venue, set in wonderful park-like surroundings, with a convivial atmosphere, tasteful decor and tasty and refreshing vittlels. It is all of this, and the folk club is settling well into its new found home, but it is also very much more besides. It is really only the tip of the iceberg which folk clubbers see on their monthly visits, and there is an awful lot going on behind the scenes which helps to improve both the current and future quality of life of a group of people who would be considerably less advantaged without the existence of Haus Müllestumpe. To honour the good work carried out there the current Federal President recently paid a visit during his stay in Bonn. In an increasingly compartmentalised world, it is always good to see people getting together, from many different walks of life, to share a common wothwhile aim of peaceful betterment. Most of the good things in life are worth waiting for, so if you may perhaps find yourselves waiting a little longer than usual on some rare occasion for your fare, just grin, enjoy the music, remember what it cost you to get in, and start humming to yourself that tune that ol' Satchmo made famous back in the 1960's, "What a Wonderful World"
